Sailor Nelson
Sailor’s research interests include morality and life philosophies, intergenerational dynamics, and supporting adolescents who face adverse life experiences. In the HDE Lab, Sailor focuses on both conducting independent research on the Human Universals of value systems, virtues, and life philosophies, as well as training incoming research assistants. She aims to gain a deeper understanding of the universal patterns within moral development, as well as practice developing teaching and mentorship skills as a Co-Lead research assistant. Apart from the HDE Lab, Sailor is a McNair Scholar, U.S. Army Veteran, and Navy Brat. She enjoys spending time with her in-laws in Northern Africa. Together, these identities and experiences shape her cultural competencies, compassion, and ongoing commitment to advancing the greater good.
